Belly fat is a nuisance to most of us. It is deemed as one of the most difficult areas to get rid of. Although many are under the assumption that crunches will rid of us of this annoying area, it is not necessarily the case. Crunches only help to strengthen the abdominal muscles which in turn will strengthen the opposing muscles of the back. Also, there is no such thing as "spot reduction". Simply focusing on only working on the abdominal muscles will not cut it. In order to get rid of that annoying belly fat, we must eat properly, engage in cardiovascular activities that last between 30 minutes to 1 hour and doing abdominal exercises.
As most of you know I recently had a baby and I'm currently struggling to lose the excess body fat. I know that I'm not only trying to lose the belly fat for superficial reasons but for health purposes as well. Belly fat can lead to type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and a number of other conditions. Knowing that type 2 diabetes runs in my family it is essential that I get my weight and my diet under control. Here are a couple of things that I've incorporated into my daily life this past week to get rid of my belly fat:
1. eating small nutritious meals
2. engaging in cardiovascular activity 5 days a week for 1 hour
.treadmill incline (10) for 10 minutes
.stair climber 10 minutes with light weights
.Bike 10 minutes (intervals of fast and slow speed)
.Elliptical 10 minutes (medium resistance)
.15 minutes of abs
.5 minutes deep stretching
3. taking my vitamin supplements
4. increasing my fiber intake
