My Favorite Foods! Are they good or bad?
I incorporate my favorite foods into my diet and then research the pros and the cons. If the foods I love have benefits then I keep them in "my diet". Here are my top 10 foods and the benefits that they reap:
1. Whole Milk- I love milk, not skim or low fat, but whole milk! I've always enjoyed drinking milk. Recently, many have asked me, "isn't milk fattening"? So, decided to do some research. 2. Tomatoes- This is another food I cannot live without! I love tomatoes with breakfast, lunch and dinner. I like it in omelets or salads or by themselves with salt and vinegar. 3.Avocados- I can eat avocados for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. The unique texture and taste make my mouth water and it compliments almost any dish! 4. Basmati or Jasmin rice- Yes, I know, I like white rice. I enjoy a spoon of rice with my dinner or lunch. When I compared my white rice to my brown rice, I discovered that my white rice had less calories and carbs. I only eat Jasmin or Basmati white rice. 5. Ceviche- What else can I say, Yummy! Normally made with fish or shellfish and cooked with lime juice. I know that I have to watch the cholesterol in this dish because shellfish normally carries high cholesterol levels. 6. Prunes- They are one of my favorite sweet and delicious treats! They are loaded with potassium and fiber. Prunes are great for when I have a sweet tooth! 7. Peanuts- A crunchy and fun to eat snack! I love cracking peanut shells to get to that goodness inside! Peanuts are packed with protein and antioxidants. 8.Fresh Orange Juice- Tastes delicious, refreshing and is healthy. Orange juice does have sugar and is highly acidic but the benefits out weight the cons.
