I hate miserable neighbors

This week I have been under much stress because of a miserable neighbor. I find that some people have nothing else better to do than harass and hate on other people. Well I've been living in my neighborhood for the past 7 years before there was even an HOA. I always got along with all of my neighbors until I moved down the street into a bigger home. Once I moved then the drama began, my neighbor across the street started filing complaints for everything! The trash bin was out too long, I have too many visitors, I parked wrong, I have a home gym and the list goes on. Instead of him coming over and speaking to me in a neighborly fashion he has been filing Petty complaints for everything!!!
This has bothered me all week long to the point that I find it hard to sleep at night! Yet as a good neighbor I don't report him when his huge donkey dog poops all over the neighborhood, or when he comes out in less than appealing shorts, or works with his garage door open! I'm truly fed up now and it's gotten so bad that I have to go in front of the HOA board. He sits on the board and it makes me sick to my stomach that I even have to look at him. I feel like a prisoner in my own home and he is the warden that is always watching what I do. HOA's take away your freedom and make others feel limited in their own home.

  1. It sounds like this guy is on a power trip since he is actually on the board. Has he ever even tried to talk to you about any of the items that he has filed a complaint? Have you tried to talk to him? Maybe you can try to kill him with kindness :-) Good luck to you.

  2. He has nothing better to do with his time. Honestly, I have no interest in talking to him at all.

  3. Thanks Sandra,
I'm just going to remain peaceful and keep to myself. I am going to take picks of the dog poop on my lawn though. They should be concentration on the flooding here when it rains instead of what lights I put up on my patio.
